What’s in the name?
For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by killer whales (some may even say obsessed). Like many 90’s kids, I watched Free Willy 2 on repeat (we can talk about the pros and cons of that movie later) and I think I owe a lot of the way I see the world and how I gravitate to animals because of it. Fast forward many years later, and I got to write my Master’s dissertation on killer whales, and then got to see my first pod in the wilds of the Norwegian Fjords the year after. So, it only seemed natural to incorporate this love into my mail club.
When talking with people about my work, what I always love is that my pieces seem to bring people together to talk about wildlife encounters they’ve had, sharing tales of wild sightings and moments in nature that can sometimes be forgotten in the hustle and bustle of our everyday life.
So, for all you animal lovers who, like me, revel in wild moments and reminisce often about time spent in nature, join my little pod and take a moment each month to explore the wild from the comfort of your home.
